About the Position
Since 2014, PATIO Interactive has been creating unique user experiences with new technology and disruptive ideas. As part of a growing design and development team in downtown Toronto, this is a ground floor opportunity with plenty of growth potential.

Your role, first and foremost, is to push the boundaries of what AR technology can do. While we’d love someone with a foundation in game design, computer science or software engineering, what we’re looking for most is someone who loves exploring, learning and creating. Our industry moves really fast so it’s not what you know, it’s whether you can adapt and grow.

About you
You are a Unity wiz with a knack for using the tool in unusual ways. You have all kinds of experience with Unity and its workflows, and the ecosystem of tools around it. You like to problem solve and you’re excited about new technology. As part of a small team, you should first and foremost have a positive attitude, enjoy learning about and absorbing new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Leading Unity-based development on a range of projects
• Creating accurate estimates of tasks
• Optimizing performance issues
• Animating 3D objects for Unity
• Developing prototypes for a range of platforms
• Researching and thinking about the possibilities of virtual and augmented reality and how it can change the way the interact with the world
• Cross-technology problem solving
• Collaborating with the design team to build polished user experiences
• Building and testing proof-of-concept prototypes with new technology to show “the art of the possible”
• Thinking like an entrepreneur

Core Skills - Must Haves

• Computer Science, Game Design, Software Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Unity and C# programmer (can include school experience)
• Experience optimizing models
• Experience in Maya, Blender, or 3DS Max
• Experience animating for Unity
• Experience rigging models
• Knowledge of WebGL, OpenGL, GLSL
• Passion for VR/AR/MR, knowledge of Oculus; HTC Vive; Microsoft Mixed Reality Devices
• Familiarity with publishing experiences to the iOS or Android App store
• Bonus Points
• Adobe CS skills
• Experience with Babylon.JS, Playcanvas or Three.JS
• ARkit/ARCore/XCode skills
• Front end web development experience
• Knowledge of computer vision
• Knowledge of physical computing
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Familiarity with data analysis
• Understanding of GPU architecture; experience in parallel computation, GPGPU
• 3D math (matrix/vector math, trigonometry, linear algebra, etc.)
