The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing & Growth who is passionate about helping dogs live longer, healthier lives.

Company Overview
Pallaby is the first curated pet nutrition brand that provides pre-portioned meal plans, tailored to your pet, to better sustain their health as they grow. We deliver mass-customized, pre-portioned kibble and treats in eco-friendly daily serve pouches, a stark contrast to the unevolved bulk food model which has contributed to the dog-obesity problem. Our meal plans proactively adapt based on the changing needs of pups across all life stages.

Role overview
As our Head of Marketing and Growth, you will be responsible for testing and scaling multichannel marketing and growth strategies to help pallaby extend its reach and acquire customers. You will bring a customer-obsessed mindset, analytical chops, and a strong brand understanding. We are a young company with big ambitions, so a readiness to work in a fast-paced, early-stage environment as both a doer and strategist is a must.

The role is based in Los Angeles.

Key responsibilities include:
• Formulating and championing the strategy to lead pallaby’s lifecycle marketing efforts.
• Drive customer acquisition through tactical execution of organic (content & SEO, community, partnerships, referral) and paid channels (search, social, direct mail)
• Design and implement effective CRM and retention programs across multiple touch points
• Identify and understand market segments, developing value propositions, positioning and guiding verbal/visual identity. Work cross-functionally to create and optimize customer experiences and conversion funnels
• Scope and implement best practice analytics for web and mobile products, gather and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions
• Identify and hire the best internal or external talent to meet growth objectives
• Invest in creating a customer-success culture through research, testing and internal feedback loops

What we’re looking for in candidates:
• 8+ years experience in digital/growth marketing
• 3+ years experience in a startup environment in a company that deeply values brand and customer experience
• 3+ years experience building and leading marketing / growth teams
• +3 year experience with direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce; experience in CPG and specifically the pet food / pet care category are a plus
• Hands-on experience with a range of marketing acquisition channels + analytical tools
• Experience translating organic growth into scalable, programmatic campaigns

• Experience with Shopify, GoogleAnalytics and other Marketing/E-comm tech-stack platforms
• Track record of success in a fast-paced, agile organization
• Strong analytical chops and communication skills

Compensation:
• Compensation will be commensurate with experience
• Compensation for the full-time role will include a mix of cash and stock; in the immediate term (Q4-2020), compensation will be more heavily weighted towards stock until company closes its first institutional financing round.
