Machine Learning Error Detection in Manufacturing
Lead Computer Vision Engineer$180k – $230k • 0.5% – 3.0%
At Overview, we are changing the way factories run their machines. Our cameras and software enable remote monitoring and defect detection on legacy and new equipment, allowing manufacturers to save millions of dollars in scrap and waste. Manufacturing is one of the core value creators in our society but has been largely overlooked by the technological revolution – our team, which spans software, hardware and manufacturing, is changing that.
Who we are:
Our team comes from all disciplines of engineering and some of the top names in technology and manufacturing including Tesla and Salesforce. We are all united by the goal of delivering real, tangible value to the world not with far-out R&D projects, but with actual products that are already shipping to customers around the US. We love the latest technology entering the computer vision world and are driven by the excitement of solving real-world problems on actual data and creating great user experiences in a traditionally clunky industry. We are backed by top-tier investors including Y Combinator and Bain Capital Ventures.
What you will work on:
You will architect our algorithms – and a significant portion of our company direction alongside a team that owns the stack from the sensor all the way to the cloud for difficult but tractable computer vision problems. You will take real data that we collect from our factory customers and develop and deploy custom and generalized models to solve their most pressing quality and performance problems. You will work with 2D, global shutter color sensors at very high framerates, and occasionally integrate time-series signals from other sensors into your algorithms. You will help lead team planning as we navigate the different opportunities in industrial computer vision and give guidance on the difficulty and resource requirements of the problems we consider. You will hire and mentor junior computer vision engineers to build out an algorithms team.
