OpenGov is looking for a full-stack engineer to join a small team building elegant online tools supporting local governments across North America.

The ideal full-stack engineer candidate should have experience building and contributing to web applications. They should be able to contribute to feature and platform development, participate in architecture decisions, and work seamlessly with a team on major projects. They should know their way around writing easy-to-understand, reusable and performant code, and be eager to learn and eager to share their skills. Most of all, they should be excited about building great software that helps citizens across America.


• Work with a team to design and develop new features, platform upgrades
• Build and improve ViewPoint's cloud resources and networking infrastructure
• Be opinionated and thoughtful about user interface and experience
• Help bring ideas on how to constantly improve our software design and development process
• Assist QA and Support in troubleshooting software issues as well as implementing bug fixes


• Experience developing enterprise-grade software
• BS/BA in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with the modern Javascript ES6+ ecosystem
• Familiarity with at least one server-side programming language
• Excellent communication skills, and an eagerness to learn

Nice to Have:

• Ember.js experience, or experience with another modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
• Experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience with Node.js, particularly Express
• Experience with any dialect of SQL
• Experience with git or other form of version control
• Ability to test, troubleshoot and deploy yours and other's code
• Experience managing resources in a cloud hosting service (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Heroku, etc.)
• Experience with CSS, SASS and creating responsive UIs
