We are looking for a highly-skilled, thoughtful, and creative UI/UX Designer to be a part of a dynamic, forward-thinking and ambitious design team.

This designer will play a key role on a small team of hybrid designers led by our Chief Creative Officer. They will execute their work across our digital product portfolio, which includes web, web app, and mobile app experiences. They will partner and collaborate with product owners, engineers, content producers, writers, specialists, strategists, and stakeholders. The UI/UX Designer will be integral to our success by researching and understanding requirements, sketching solutions, building prototypes, executing final designs, and participating in all stages of our design process through ongoing releases.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

• User experience and user interface design on a range of public-facing digital products
• Present design concepts and negotiate with stakeholders
• Produce design work that supports our mission and delivers a compelling user experience
• Design with a focus on implementation and cross-browser/platform compatibility
• Create conceptual models, personas, workflows, prototypes, and user interface specifications
• Ensure user interface guidelines and standards are followed during the development and maintenance of the product
• Work efficiently with a cross-functional team

Requirements & Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field
• Experience designing public-facing product features in a professional setting
• Strong portfolio with user experience design case studies and smart interactive projects
• Experience with user-centered design principles and practices, general web standards, typography and color, and web usability standards

Basic Skills:
• Strong knowledge of fundamental design principles
• Must have responsive web design experience
• Ability to deliver detailed wireframes, flowcharts, visual designs, prototypes, and style guides
• Ability to participate in and lead iterative planning sessions, communicate your plans, and set expectations for your work
• Execute user research and requirements gathering for new and existing products
• Ability to understand the underlying technology of our products, and to work closely with engineers to achieve design goals
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Invision

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with branding, identity design, and brand visual system design
• Experience with collaborative design processes for multidisciplinary teams
• Experience conducting usability research and acceptance testing
• Experience with rapid prototyping using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with agile development principles and practices
• Experience with user testing and A/B testing
