The Vancouver Storage and I/O team is responsible for how and where customers access their data and how to deliver the highest performance customer experience. This team and technologies are a critical component in OmniSci’s growth and launching of new products and services.
We are looking for software engineers who thrive on complex problems and relish the challenge of operating complex and mission critical systems under extreme loads. Our systems manage hundreds of millions to tens of billions of records, and aids in delivering query results in sub-second response time.
You will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. As a part of the Storage I/O team, you will deliver robust feature sets, intuitive designs, and user interfaces that make it easy for our customers to access their data at scale. You need to really enjoy working and collaborating closely with peers in a group of very smart and talented engineers.
We’re looking for people who are smart and can get things done. We’re looking for a range of experience, from brilliant and motivated new college graduates to seasoned developers with battle-tested wisdom.
- 1-3 years of C++ programming experience
- 1-3 years of professional software development experience
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of Agile development
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Strong sense of ownership and in delivering results
- Familiarity with one or more of statistics, distributed systems or geospatial
- Experience with data analytics and/or storage subsystems
- Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
