We're looking for a EE that loves to innovate quickly and test out new ideas while also taking pride in bringing boards all the way through to scalable manufacturing, testing, and certification.

If you've ever come across a cool IC in Digikey or Mouser and decided, wow, I just have to build a project out of this and CAD'ed up schematics, got boards made, reflowed them yourself, then this is the place for you!

We're aiming to build the most creative and fastest moving robotics company possible. EEs will get to build and improve on everything from high performance, high precision motor controllers to balancing 48V LiFePO4 chargers, beamforming audio hardware, state of the art MIPI vision systems, LCD displays and touchscreens, LIDAR ToF sensor boards, etc.

The ideal candidate already designs circuits and lays out boards regularly for work or personal projects and has a wide range of experience with stuff like thermal design, EMI, motor drivers, sensors or IoT chips, etc. You should also have a strong knowledge of DFM for boards and know about things like impedance matching, PCB surface finishes, panelization and testing.

Most importantly, we want someone who learns quickly and is deeply passionate about bringing amazing new inventions into the world. At OhmniLabs you'll be surrounded by people who feel the same way.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the charge for all the new hardware we want to develop and all the existing systems we want to evolve to peak performance.
  • Build and improve on everything from high performance, high precision motor controllers to balancing 48V LiFePO4 chargers, beamforming audio hardware, state of the art MIPI vision systems, LCD displays and touchscreens, LIDAR ToF sensor boards, etc.
  • Not afraid to get your hands dirty - as you will be wiring up breadboards, soldering or doing reflow yourself, doing hot air rework to understand manufacturing or field failures, testing boards with oscilloscopes or logic analyzers; and sourcing batches of parts for prototypes or production runs. Collaborate closely with CTO, CPO, product managers in addition to external partner networks

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer/Electrical engineering, Computer science, or equivalent engineering degrees.
  • Experience with designing circuits and laying out boards regularly for work or personal projects
  • Wide range of experience with thermal design, EMI, motor drivers, sensors or IoT chips, etc.
  • A strong knowledge of DFM for boards, impedance matching, PCB surface finishes, panelization and testing ECAD software. We prefer Eagle but KiCad or Altium are solid alternatives.
