The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and talented Finance Manager to join the Oddbox team.

This position will report to the CEO/CFO and will have overall responsibility for the finance function covering statutory and management reporting, cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting, financial modelling as well as the day to day accounting.

This role has great potential for growth, personal development and future opportunities and is a critical role in supporting the senior team in forecasting and planning. We’re a small team however and this is also a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to get stuck into spreadsheets and invoicing.

Key responsibilities
• Day to day financial management including bookkeeping, processing payments as well as submitting and chasing up on invoices
• Manage the month end process including reviewing and reconciling all balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Prepare and present the monthly management accounts, board and investor financial reporting
• Identify opportunities to grow revenues, reduce costs and increase profitability and cash flow.
• Coordinate our outsourced payroll provider and employee pension scheme
• Monitor and forecast cashflow
• Work closely with each team on monthly variance analysis, cost modelling, forecasting and investment analyses
• Own the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecast, presenting to the SMT
• Responsible for VAT returns to HMRC
• Preparing annual accounts and working with external accountants on filing
• Designing and implementing key financial processes and controls to support this rapidly scaling business
• Manage and automate, where possible, transactional finance tasks.
• Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with applicable regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting

Essential skills

• ACCA/ACA part-qualified with 3-5 years’ experience in a professional environment (auditing firm, consulting) or QBE with 5 years+ experience
• Advanced Excel, strong modeller, good with data manipulation and first experience with business intelligence.
• Obsessed with numbers and able to see through the detail
• Understanding of business outside of "Debits and Credits"
• Able to pick things up quickly with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced high growth company and liaising directly with senior management.
• Can easily move from close detail to high level, and work to tight deadlines when needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills - a team player, willing to get stuck in
• Strong problem solving and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
• High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
• Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind
• Articulate communicator with good written and verbal English.
