We are seeking a candidate with interests in design, technology and education to join our team as a Design-Tech Education Fellow at our partner school in Maui, Hawaii.

The NuVuX Design-Tech Education Fellow will be an instructor based at Kamehameha Schools Maui who will lead tech-focused design studios for high school students. In conjunction with Coaches from NuVu in Cambridge, MA, the Fellow will be a key resource for students as they brainstorm, design, and prototype multidisciplinary project ideas throughout the school year. An ideal candidate is passionate about education and excited about expanding their own knowledge and creativity.

As a Design-Tech Education Fellow, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading tech-focused design studios
- Teaching fundamental technical and design skills
- Giving critical feedback to students about their ideas and prototypes
- Guiding students in taking projects from concept to reality
- Supporting the student's documentation of ideas, research and prototypes throughout the design process

Required qualifications:
- A passion for working with high school students
- Design, programming, electronics, and fabrication expertise
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in a design or design/tech field such as architecture, computational design, or industrial design, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of the design & making process: brainstorming, ideating, and prototyping
- Ability to think both conceptually and concretely about projects
- Strong writing and graphic communication abilities
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with a diverse group of people

Preferred qualifications:
- Teaching experience
- Proficiency with wood shop tools, digital fabrication, 3D printers and CNC machining
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling software (Rhino and Fusion preferred)
- Proficiency with Arduino and designing with electronics
