NIRA is a fintech startup whose mission is to enable financial freedom through providing access to credit. We provide approved users a digital credit line of up to Rs. 1 lakh for up to 1 year. We went live a few months ago and are growing quickly!
In the lending business, one of the most important and yet overlooked functions is collections. Lending is not about disbursing loans, it's about ensuring that the money comes back! While we are still a new business, we recognise the need for a robust collections framework and process to be in place.
We are looking for someone with experience in collections to join our operations team and help us build out our collections function. You will also be involved in the other parts of the operations function as per the needs of the business.
- Ownership of collections process: ensuring mandates are registered, communications are made in a timely manner, and delinquent borrowers are pursued in a manner consistent with our values of customer centricity and ethical behaviour.
*Work with the team to design and implement collection strategy, techniques and procedures for front-end, mid-range and late-stage collections + reviewing the collections strategy regularly to ensure that the collection techniques change with the change in the legal and economic situation.
Contribute to the configuration of collections process based on observations of effectiveness of different methods.
Adopt a data centric approach to continuously iterate and develop segment specific approaches to collections and measure their effectiveness.
Assist with other element of the operations process such as underwriting as disbursals as required.
- Minimum three years experience working in collections or recovery (preferably consumer debt) from a bank or NBFC. We can consider candidates with collections experience in other customer facing businesses too.
- Experience in other areas of operations is a bonus.
If you've got good experience and domain knowledge, a willingness to work hard, and a desire to work in a more dynamic and fast changing environment, we would love to hear from you.
