💨 TL;DR version

You’re a data scientist with a proven track record of deploying machine learning models in a production environment. You want to be part of a fast-growing company that’s been recognised as one of Europe’s most disruptive startups, built by a diverse and friendly team. We’re working at the cutting edge of machine learning, deploying models that help create data-powered insights and a highly-personalised marketing tool for local independent venues, as well as global brands. We’re already working with leading mobility companies, accommodation providers and venues across London. We are offering equity, and we want you to be a part of the future of city discovery.

👋 Hey, we’re NAVA

We’re a growing start-up based in London, built to help surface the most exciting things going on in a city, from unique and independent venues to underground art exhibitions. We’re very picky about the venues and places we think are worth visiting, and when we do feature a venue it’s because we love it. As a result, we’re quickly becoming the go-to place when looking for where to go and what to do in cities across the UK and Germany. NAVA is all about telling the story of a city from the perspective of those within it, whilst supporting the local businesses that make the community special.

We’re a diverse and open-minded team and we’re always on the lookout for people to join our journey. We’ve already built some great tech around the business, and we’re now looking for someone that can help shape the future of the journey.

🙌 We Value

* Thought-provoking conversation
* A brand-led approach to business
* Making things explainable

💻 The Tech

We want to become the best-in-class when it comes to matching people and places together, which is why we prioritise building scalable technology for the long-term. Our products are built with a MERN stack, with our machine learning built in Python. If you’re looking to apply ML models to a real-world environment, this is the place to do it.

👤 The Role

We have a working product available on the market with strong and fast-growing traction. We’ve built a hybrid-recommendation engine that matches venues to customers, based on data collected through our consumer facing application, as well as third-party API sources. We have the ability to capture location-based and behavioural-based GDPR-compliant data about our customers, and we already use this to make predictions about what content to serve our customers.

This is where you come in. We’re building out the venue side of the business, and helping provide venues with key insights about their customers, as well as a highly personalised platform to drive customer footfall for venues based on data. This information should be internally accessible, but should also be accessible by global brands via an API at an aggregate level, helping global brands in the travel industry and beyond better understand their customers.

You’ll be working closely with our engineering team, focusing on delivering key data strategies to continue to develop our understanding of people and behaviour, with the opportunity to move into a leading role over time.
