The Role

The Manufacturing Associate will oversee all daily operations of the plant from purchasing, production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed as well as deliveries. This individual will help develop processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. Other requirements and skills desired include:


Major Areas of Accountability:

-Assure production output, product quality and on-time delivery performance consistent with customer needs and with Naturalvert’s business requirements.
-Manage systems and processes that optimize productivity and ensure optimal return on assets. Increase production, capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards. Allocate resources and utilize assets effectively to produce optimal results.
-Set and uphold high standards for operational excellence. Establish targets and track key metrics for the organizations performance. Identify and execute appropriate continuous measures and corrective actions for deficiencies.
-Lead the operations planning process; lead and manage strategic initiatives to achieve key functional, operational, and financial objectives, and provide staff with a clear sense of direction and focus.
-Manage effective systems of budget control, including capital, operating expenditures, and manpower costs.
-Foster a trusting relationship with workgroup and respond to employee issues in a fair and timely manner.
-Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
-Recognize gaps between the current situation and the desired outcome; engage appropriate internal and external partners to assure successful analysis, option determination and tactical execution to resolve engineering and manufacturing issues that impact the ability to fulfill customer orders.
-Oversee the site’s shipping and receiving functions.
-Responsible for talent acquisition/retention, employee development and performance management of the operations team.
-Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies to prevent injuries to workers.

Education and Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree (achieved or in progress) in Business Management or applicable technical discipline.
-Environment producing electronic and/or electro-mechanical products.
-Previous plant management experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

-Sufficient knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
-Working knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship process.
-Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
-Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
-Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively.
-Strong technical competence, including the ability to identify and implement improvements in product designs and production methods for cost and manufacturability.
-Solid analytical skills; able to resolve complex business problems (technical, product, service, process, operations and organizational) and identify priorities.
-Able to identify key needs or gaps and provide leadership to close those gaps.
-Capacity to deal with a peak workload and deadline pressure.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and hands-on ERP systems experience.
-Requires a strong initiative, proactive nature and a sense of urgency.
-Well-versed in appropriate care and security practices for sensitive information, including but not limited to confidential employee, customer, supplier, financial, strategy, marketing and intellectual property information.

Physical Requirements (these physical requirements must be performed with or without accommodation):

-Majority of time is spent in usual office working conditions
-Use of an office computer for completing work
-Regular exposure to a manufacturing area which may entail exposure to dirt, dust and other attributes common to this environment
-Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
-Minimal travel may be required (less than 5%)
