The Nana Academy runs ongoing education and helps bridge the growing automation gap by creating entirely new skilled professionals.

We’re excited to launch in new markets, make more investments in our in-person and online training efforts, and launch new verticals and product offerings. It’s a fun team as well — we have monthly BBQs with our technicians and are lucky to have an incredible office on the 11th floor of the beautiful and historic Oakland Tribune Tower (right off 12-street BART). We’re looking forward to finding the perfect person for this role!

THE ROLE
We’re growing the team and are looking for our 2nd and 3rd marketing hire. In this role, you are Nana’s brand ambassador to our community of experienced appliance repair technicians as well as everyday people (ride-share drivers, stay at home parents, etc.) that are going through training with Nana to get a new career and have a better life.

You’re a marketing generalist with a knack for social media, online communities, and creative content generation. You’ve planned events, help set up new marketing channels, and want to build a brand. You’re also looking for something where you can see the direct impact of your work on the lives of everyday people.

Your charge is to:
- Grow and engage with the Nana appliance repair technician community and influencers
- Build upon our training programs to help teach thousands of people online and in-person
- Assist the growth team in getting more experienced technicians onboarded to Nana

RESPONSIBILITIES

Community & Brand Building
- Identify influencers and build contact lists in the appliance repair and home maintenance space (nationally and at a local market level)
- Plan and drive attendance for quarterly events for technicians in our new markets (e.g. BBQ / dinner) and monthly in the Bay Area. Adjust time/location to increase attendance
- Evaluate which swag we should make for our techs. Source the vendors to get it made and sent out.
- Oversee and execute content creation for ads, for community channels (videos, photos, etc.)
Identify additional ways to build our community and brand with technicians

Technician Growth
- Get trained by appliance technician managers to reviews inbound resumes for folks that want to join Nana as an appliance repair technician
- Handle outreach of next steps and conduct initial phone screens with candidates
- Map and evaluate current recruiting tools and their respective funnels.
- Determine ROI of various channels.
- Test new job boards and recruiting tools (craigslist, indeed, youtube ads, etc.), test different types of job titles/descriptions
- Identify and create recruiting content needed to advertise Nana to candidates to tell then the Nana story

Learning Program Development
- Webinar Demand Generation - Identify new channels and tools to grow webinar attendance and revisit /retention rate. Expand ways in which we engage with students between courses
- Course Programming - Assist in running weekly webinars with appliance technician instructor, help create course and follow up materials (decks, surveys, tests, PDF handouts, etc.). Ensure follow up questions are answer and sent out
- Webinar Planning - show us what a best-in-class webinar and online learning program looks like (research, tool evaluating, integration requests needed with eng)
- Build upon our in-person training efforts and define new playbook to scale nationally

MUST HAVE
- Creative, disciplined, curious, organized
- 1-4 years marketing or account management experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced work environment (start-up, small digital agency, etc.)

SHOULD HAVE
- Experience setting up and running webinars or online training
- Experience managing online communities
- Experience coordinating events
- Flexible copywriting skills
