Where we need help

We are looking for a Retention Marketing and Email Manager focused on increasing customer lifetime value and innovation in communicating with existing customers. This person will work closely with the digital and guideshop teams to optimize returning customer strategy with an eye towards key conversion metrics. This position is both analytical and creative by nature, involving both reporting and the creation of digital assets. The creative work in this role will primarily be focused around email, digital ads, and website landing pages. The analytic side will be centered on defining detailed testing plans, measuring the results and making data driven decisions about future retention strategies and tactics.

What does the job entail?

- Manage retention and returning customer base strategy
- Innovate and come up with new ways of retaining customers
- Increase overall customer lifetime value
- Map the customer journey
- Manage customer relationships from a corporate communication standpoint
- Manage email segmentation, creation and reporting
- Manage key conversion points and KPI’s in the marketing funnel
- Manage and optimize landing pages, website calls-to-action (CTAs), and lead-generation forms
- Create, manage, and test landing pages for paid traffic to ensure message coherency and conversion rate best practices
- Actively measure the user’s journey. Define and improve resulting KPIs through continuous website testing and optimization
- Work closely with paid acquisition with an eye towards optimizing creative for conversion
- Assist in landing page performance reporting
- Assist in paid ad reporting and ad creation

- World-class expertise in retention marketing, especially with e-mail but also across all major performance marketing channels.
- Good communication skills – You are able to effectively communicate your performance, learnings, and ideas to people at every level of the organization.
- Curiosity and willingness to try new things, work in a fast paced environment, and never settle for the status quo.
- Self-starter mentality – You can develop the strategy and execute upon the strategy on your own with little guidance
- More practical skills needed:
- 5+ years of experience in email marketing, CRM, loyalty, and retention.
- BA/BS or equivalent
- Expertise in a commercial e-mail marketing tool. Knowledge of Bronto is a plus.
- Additional experience in other forms of customer communication (e.g., text, direct mail), a plus.
- High proficiency in a marketing analytics / reporting tool.
- Experience with A/B/MV tests tools / frameworks.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Advanced skills creating wireframes and functional/interaction specifications. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Strong experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript is a plus.
