MonAfrique is a premium online retail and wholesale store that curates for sale the best of African lifestyle for clients globally to delight in and cherish. We’re a lifestyle brand that aims to foster innovation, trade, and development by carefully curating consumer lifestyle products, created by local designers across the continent.

Our mission is to reintroduce indigenously-made lifestyle products from the continent, to permeate the contemporary quotidian lifestyle of consumers globally.

We are seeking an experienced Recruiter & PR Specialist with great communication skills and an eye for scouting talent to join our fast-growing remote team. The ideal candidate is passionate about ensuring a smooth recruiting process for candidates and has experience in PR or Journalism.

Role:

The Recruiter & PR Specialist will collaborate with departments and the director on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. A successful candidate has HR experience and can help shape and protect our corporate image in ways that promote our business, values, and mission.

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement overall recruiting strategy
- Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
- Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards
- Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media, local events, etc
- Screen candidates resumes and job applications
- Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
- Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated and have a positive introduction to the organization
- Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
- Promote and foster company culture
- Work with director to formulate PR plans and strategies
- Enhance the company’s voice and presence through online and offline channels
- Write press releases, speeches and other PR copy
- Support the implementation of promotional plans
- Facilitate the resolution of disputes with the public or external vendors

Qualifications:

- BS/MS in Human Resources Management, Business, or relevant degrees
- 5+ years of work experience as a Recruiter or Human Resources
- Solid ability to administer and conduct different types of assessments (technical, soft skills, personality, etc.) and interviews (structured, competency-based, stress, etc)
- Hands-on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check, etc)
- Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Angel List, and LinkedIn Recruiting
- Strong decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in project management and execution of PR campaigns and/or initiatives preferred
- Experience in copywriting and editing preferred
- Public Relations, Copywriting, or Journalism experienced preferred
