Maven is looking for a contract Accounting Associate to join the Finance team. This role requires 40 hours per week for a minimum commitment of 3 months. This person will be responsible for various projects and ad hoc requests in order to help our Finance Department maintain updated files, pay and receive payments, and assist with monthly closing duties.  Reporting to our Accounting Manager and working closely with our Director of Finance, this is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced B2B startup environment and gain exposure to multiple areas within accounting and finance. 


* Classifying credit card transactions, and reviewing receipts
* Recording journal entries
* Updating various schedules (FA, Prepaids, Accruals)
* Assisting with bank reconciliation
* Record vendor invoices
* Assist with creating schedules in Excel
* Interface with departments across the organization as needed for adhoc projects and research (i.e., getting receipts, clarifying policies, etc)
* Assist with various analysis of Revenue and COGS/inventory
* Research on products and tools to help streamline processes and reduce closing time


* B.S. Degree in Accounting
* At least 1-2 years of prior Accounting experience (which can include prior internship experience)
* Advanced knowledge of Excel, Journal Entries
* Knowledge of journal entries and GAAP accounting principles
