Overview: Boutique art brand seeks business development representative to join a small cross functional studio team in Brooklyn. This is a senior-level position responsible for spearheading the generation of new leads, brokering partnership deals, and overseeing the sales cycle from end to end.

Your major metrics and tools to control are:

Full ownership of the sales and business development funnel

Developing key communication strategies for business opportunities amongst all stakeholders (gatekeepers, decision makers, funding partner, sponsors, influencers.)

Establishing, negotiating, and overseeing payments of business development deals between the Studio and clients

All outbound metrics including key partnerships, brand collaborators, business owners, commissioned clients, and new industry-relevant opportunities.

The role:

Architect and customize an end-to-end system for generating new business

Sharpen the Makewell Art brand voice to engage with potential market opportunities

Communicate with liaisons in the art world in search of new opportunities for cultivating and managing all strategic partnerships (both corporate and private). Find new and innovative channels to create more commissions, sales, and shows

Fully own the fine art and editions sale cycles from start to finish, both online and in-person

Develop, customize, and iterate on various pitch decks and other sales collateral that assist business development

The requirements:

A degree in business development, entrepreneurship, finance, or a related field

Experience in sales and large account management, upselling, and partnership management

Highly effective at cold-calling potential clients and partners

Proven ability in narrative-based salesmanship

Experience in overseeing large sales cycles, especially in selling new-to-market products.

Skilled at negotiating sales, partnerships, and vendor agreements

Experience with hand-holding high value contacts through the sales funnel while simultaneously meeting deadlines

Proficient in working with industry standardized CRMs and Sales pipeline software.

A strong written voice, with the ability to communicate both professionally and personably to a variety of stakeholders.

Our ideal colleague will have at least four years of work experience within a business development role. Candidates with experience in fine arts and luxury goods preferred.
