Software Engineer (Intern)

Things You'll Do as Backend Software Engineer at MakeCents
• Participate in the full development cycle of a brand-new blockchain powered system
• Develop features and backend components for web, payment terminal, and mobile applications; scale the architecture and codebase to support growth
• Various API design, development, and integrations.

What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience
• Experience of 1-3 years of software engineering backed by computer science exposure at college/university.
• Experience in Python (experience in building micro-services based architecture is a plus!)
• Experience writing high performance Python (or PyPy) applications. Knowledge of flask is a plus
• Expertise in developing high-volume messaging backend systems at scale, using load balancing, caching, asynchronous tasking, and messaging technologies related to AMQP such as ZeroMQ or RabbitMQ etc
• Experience with docker orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Thorough understanding of testing practices and their value. Use of unittest, pytest, mock, nose/nose2 is a plus.
• Experience in payments (especially mobile payment and in-store payment technologies) and associated regulatory/compliance requirement is a plus
• Experience in building scalable, reliable micro-services.
• Experience in writing smart contracts, HyperLedger, and Dapps is a huge plus
