We are hiring an Instructor Manager to join our diverse team of instructors. This hybrid role is responsible for managing a small team of instructors and teaching assistants as well as teaching courses and developing curriculum.
On the managerial side of your role, you will be responsible for managing and coaching our best-in-class instructors from a variety of fields including Computer Science, Front End Web, Back End Web, iOS, Data Science, & Software Development. In addition, you'll drive team level projects to improve our curriculum and students preparation for rewarding careers in software engineering.
On the teaching side, you'll teach part-time (one to two classes per term) in one of our concentration areas, giving you insight into the instructor role and direct impact on student success.
This role will give you a unique opportunity to build the future of higher education. You’ll work closely with our instructional team along with students and industry partners to design an educational blueprint that we’ll use to grow our college from 200 to 500 students. You’ll have the opportunity to grow with the company by improving your industry knowledge, management, problem-solving, empathy, teaching and communication skills.

We are looking for someone with the following (if you have most but not all of these, we still encourage you to apply):
- Computer Science Degree and/or 4-5 years of professional experience as an instructor/teacher in the field of Software Engineering
- Prior experience managing people or teams, preferably in an engineering context
- Highly organized and previous experience in project or program management
- Experience working with OKRs and making data driven decisions
- Able to confidently give constructive, positive feedback to people of diverse professional and personal backgrounds
- A “growth mindset” attitude towards teaching and managing
- Familiarity with or subject matter expertise in one or more of the disciplines we teach
- Proficient in instructional best practices such as lesson planning, differentiation, assessments, student data analysis, and the creation of strong classroom climates
