We believe that video is the most powerful tool for storytelling, but not everyone has the skills to produce videos, and so we built the world’s smartest video creator using A.I. to solve this problem.

We launched Lumen5 in early 2017 and the platform rapidly grew to service over 200,000 users within two years. Our customers include many notable brands such as Forbes, Greenpeace, Economist, LinkedIn, and hundreds more. Our company is fully bootstrapped and through the hard work of our all-star team, we grew to become a multimillion dollar success without any investor funding.

Recently, Lumen5 won the New Ventures BC competition and was recognized for being one of the fastest growing companies in the province. Lumen5 also won the Fundica Roadshow for being one of the fastest growing startups across all of Canada. We're looking for a visionary, high-energy marketing professional with the ability to bring strategy, inspiration, innovation, campaign expertise, and thought leadership to the Lumen5 team.

You’ll operate as the voice of our audience and think strategically and conceptually about campaigns and programs to help them succeed. You are an inspirational people leader and are excited to grow a team of marketing professionals. The successful candidate will have extensive experience building and expanding brands, driving growth, and the creative ability to deliver new and innovative ideas into actionable and effective marketing strategies. You will love working closely with all teams, including product and sales. You are a seasoned marketing professional who works collaboratively with all levels and backgrounds and has significant experience creating, influencing, and developing brand storytelling and integrated marketing campaigns, and performance-based lifecycle and acquisition/retention marketing campaigns – and seeing them succeed.


* You will report directly to the CEO and design the overall marketing strategy, including refining our brand and value proposition, including inbound and outbound user acquisition strategies; work with team to develop and execute the plan
* You will manage the marketing budget and hiring roadmap to grow and scale the marketing team
* Apply your marketing expertise across a broad spectrum of account based marketing, content marketing, email marketing, social media, events, affiliate marketing, etc.
* Develop and lead the execution of go-to-market plans, including defining the value prop and positioning statements for new products and product enhancements, crafting key messaging, and managing the day-to-day and cross-functional implementation of the plan
* Be a big idea marketer who is capable of leading teams to develop new strategies and tactics to build our brand, drive improved funnel metrics, and achieve high revenue growth targets
* Work closely with sales to develop adequate in-bound marketing lead flow to ensure we achieve quarterly sales targets
* Develop strategic annual marketing plans that utilize aggressive demand generation programs, strategic product marketing and content plans, digital campaigns, event/experience initiatives, and comprehensive sales and partner enablement initiatives
* Translate the marketing plan into actionable quarterly targets and initiatives, keeping the team and budget on schedule
* Evolve company messaging to secure the company’s position as the trusted thought leader for thorough content marketing and expert engagement of media, analysts and influencers
* Refine lead generation programs to grow qualified leads; Website/SEO, email campaigns, web advertising, webinars, trade shows, social media and additional relevant channels
* Ensure continuous analysis of competitive environment and industry trends


* 10+ years marketing or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years experience in Demand Generation driving B2B SaaS marketing activities (preferably at a high-growth startup)
* 3+ years experience leading a marketing team
* Experience building and scaling teams, budgets, tools, and programs
* Detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once
* Experience with an early-stage startup and know what it takes to build the marketing strategy and tactics from the ground up
* You possess a deep understanding of inbound and outbound marketing methodologies – specifically as they relate to large-enterprise and mid-market segments
* You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and have a “no-task-is-too-small” attitude
* You're an energetic leader; you inspire others to be the best versions of themselves and provide gateways to ensure success
* You are metrics-driven and results-oriented; you rationalize your decisions based on data
* You plan and prioritize effectively and focus on key issues at hand
* You are an excellent listener and welcome feedback from your teammates
* You are a consummate learner; you're insatiably curious and keep current on the latest within your area of expertise, but also hungry to learn and develop new skills
