The Role

Logical Buildings is looking for a qualified fellow to join our product marketing/customer support team. Our product marketing team works closely with our clients and small energy users to ensure we meet their sustainability and decarbonization goals while supporting the transition to a clean energy economy. Logical Buildings, in partnership with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), seeks a fellow who can support the success of our growing customer base.

This fellow should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, highly motivated, organized and passionate about sustainability and clean energy technologies.

Fellowship Timeframe: 12-months

Fellowship Deadline: 3 p.m. EST on October 28, 2021 (application should be submitted to Logical Buildings by October 25th the latest)

Hours: 35-40 hours per week

Compensation: $37-40K + health benefits

Our cutting edge virtual powerplant app, GridRewards, is built to empower low/moderate income, small energy users. The app helps users lower their carbon footprint and provide cash incentives for being energy efficient and contributing to a more reliable and cleaner grid.

Our technology is in the market and loved by all users, and our clients want to grow. The Climate Justice Fellow will play an integral role in our growth by working closely with our marketing, sales, engineering and software teams to manage lead generation, customer support and growth.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous experience with customer support preferred

Primary responsibilities

Work alongside marketing and business development teams to drive lead generation
Provide exceptional customer support for residential small energy users
Coordinate and execute deliverables across digital marketing channels/campaigns
Develop content and manage metrics for social media, press, and other digital marketing campaigns
Continuously refine customer personas and identify partnership opportunities for growth
Attend webinars and perform research on clean energy technologies

Eligible Fellow Candidates must:

Currently reside in NYS and can work in NYS full-time for 12-months
Commit to the entire 12-month fellowship and the goal of assisting Logical Buildings in advancing climate justice and clean energy priorities for disadvantaged communities
Currently reside in a Disadvantaged Community or be from a Population as defined on NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Workforce Development “Definitions” page

Fellowship Requirements:

Have an initial high-level idea of the theme and shape of the final deliverable or capstone project the Fellow will produce upon completion of the program

Examples include but are not limited to:

Energy benchmarking/disclosure requirements that protect and empower tenants with information about the energy use intensity and affordability of their housing stock
Consider the health impacts associated with poor indoor air quality and insufficient thermal comfort
Identify and evaluate options for supporting equitable adaptation and resilience practices and projects, and to enhance insurance protection
Develop a comprehensive strategy to encourage investment by anchor institutions to equitably address climate change and local community wealth building
Energy efficiency education and resources to community members through a series of workshops, tabling events, and media
Analysis of specific clean energy curriculum for implicit bias and exploration of avenues to incorporate community voice in curriculum and programs
Examination of power and privilege dynamics and the impact these can have on communities; exploring opportunities to leverage power and privilege.
Exploration of related concepts and practices to move toward a just society; examining the historical context of exclusion in the United States and how this impacts communities.
Supporting and strengthening grassroots community-based collaboration with sector-based employment partners
Developing and/or implementing strengths-based community climate change/resilience planning strategies, policies, and projects
Facilitating partnership building and support clean energy start-ups’ use of technology to address disadvantaged community identified needs to the disproportionate impacts of climate change
