Job Description

Lavabit is looking for a tech-savvy Customer Service & Technical Sales Representative to provide fast and useful technical assistance to the company’s current and future global email subscription customers. In this capacity, the representative will address customer queries on technical service issues and guide problem resolution to ensure customer satisfaction with all Lavabit services. The representative will also work closely with the business development team to expand the company’s client base and revenue footprint with the consultative marketing of additional Lavabit products and services. For the right candidate, this position will provide quick advancement into technical enterprise sales and management within a rapidly expanding company.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact via email or social media for customers seeking technical assistance
• Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques to resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; directing unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
• Manage the upgrading or cancellation of accounts and assisting with the administration of new orders and promotions
• Generate new sales by recommending new products or services to customers by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs
• Advise management on the pulse of customer feedback and provide general account management and sales recommendations as needed

Applicant Requirements

• Proficiency in oral and written English (Hindi a plus)
• Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role for computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
• Tech savvy with working knowledge of email, servers, databases network protocols such as SMTP, POP, IMAP and HTTP
• Experience with various email clients - Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Thunderbird, IOS etc.
• Customer-oriented with a sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
• College degree preferred in BSc in Computer Science, MIS or relevant field will consider High School diploma or GED with equivalent or related experience.
