As a non-software-only company, we have a high operational footprint, i.e., you must be comfortable doing on-the-ground, in-the-weeds, day-to-day operations.

The role consists of 2 components:
- Everything the Retail Operations Manager does (please review that posting as well) you will need to be able to do as well, though you will have less responsibilities in this area (~1-3 days a week) and spend more of your time doing:
- Managing/coordinating scheduling and handovers between staff
- Managing the store operations overall (e.g., inventory purchasing & planning, physical store merchandising, financial planning)
- Improving operations processes (e.g., work flows to outsource calls)
- Events planning & organization
- Marketing (e.g., event tabling)
- Training new store staff
- Assisting General Manager with other responsibilities (e.g., research, development)

Hours will be 1-9pm weekdays (except Wednesday) with 1 weekend day 11:30-8:30pm.

This role is less defined than the Retail Operations Manager role, key to your success will be strong comfort:
- figuring it out (e.g., learning the skills you need for the task at hand)
- making decisions given uncertainty (e.g., if we’re over-booked on a weekend, you’ll have to pick how to resolve across customers without knowing how they’ll react)
- managing own schedule & priorities (e.g., negotiate trade-offs)
- proactively making tools/ standards (e.g., if you want a team Slack channel, make it!)
- using un-quantified data (e.g., customer hearsay is even useful)

Experience with outdoors gear strongly preferred
