The Role

LASE Innovation is an early-stage startup that aims to provide innovative optics solutions for broad applications. The company is currently targeting life science and diagnostic markets by commercializing LASE Particle (LP) technology initially developed at MGH, Harvard and MIT. LPs are novel laser-emitting nano/micro particles that due to their narrow emission, provide orders of magnitude more colors than conventional fluorescent probes for multiplexing and cell tracking applications. The company aims to release its first products including consumable LPs and life science instruments for single-cell analysis by the end of 2021.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated, skillful individual to join LASE Innovation as a Senior Fluidics Engineer. This individual will design and develop fluidic control, automation systems for maneuvering live cells and dispensing solutions and reagents. Specific responsibilities include:
• Optimize fluidic control, sorting, collection, staining of cells for LASE flow cytometry products
• Develop and integrate automatic fluidic-control hardware and software into LASE flow cytometry products.
• Design and build fluidic tools for product developments and production of LASE Particle products
Requirements:
• Master’s or doctoral degree in fluidic systems, microfluidics, automation engineering, production engineering, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience with flow cytometer systems, microfluidic devices, or technically equivalent devices
• Expert-level skills with SolidWorks and GD&T desired
• Keen on working with new technologies and solving difficult problems
• Resourcefulness, good communication skills, ability to work well in a small team, and strong technical project management skills
