Kasa is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our remote Property Operations ("PropOps") Team as a Property Operations Lead. In this role, you will source and manage independent property management vendors to maintain our quality standards and ensure smooth unit operations across the Kasa portfolio. Your goal will be to guarantee defect-free stays for our guests, meaning each apartment is clean, in excellent physical condition and ready to receive guests comfortably when they arrive.

Kasa is enlightened hospitality: high-end home-like apartments featuring a tech-enabled seamless check-in process and personalized virtual service; all at a great value relative to accommodation alternatives. We want our guests to not just stay with us but truly settle into our Kasas while traveling. Unlike a typical hotel, our rooms are inside luxury apartment buildings and use connected devices to provide our guests with a seamless virtual check-in experience. Although our virtual front desk is not at the physical location of the apartments, it strives to be more knowledgeable, attentive and personalized than a traditional hotel front desk. Said differently, our team might be out of sight, but our guests are never out of mind.

We have Kasas all over the country (16 states) and are expanding into new markets every day.

The Job

We’re looking for a systems savvy multi-tasker who understands what we’re all about: helping travelers feel at home in a new area. Your goal will be to create a positive, lasting impression of Kasa so guests come back to stay with us again and again. You'll be accountable for: sourcing and retaining independent property management vendors in our new markets, communicating with our existing vendors to ensure they maintain a high standard of unit quality, handling ordering requests, resolving operational issues, coordinating with our Guest Experience team to ensure our guests are supported in-person, and taking initiative to help build scalable processes.

You’ll primarily work virtually and remote, with occasional visits to apartments in your region. There may be some travel involved for recruiting, training and quality assurance purposes. Though the work is remote, we are building a team that is collaborative, dedicated and passionate.

The Role: Property Operations Lead

● Contribute to building systems and processes that allow you to efficiently audit overall unit quality and measure the success of property management vendors

● Resolve both property management vendor and in-unit issues quickly and to mutually-beneficial outcomes

● Manage replacement and upgrade furnishing ordering efforts and develop inventory structure for larger metros

● Source and retain property management vendors in new markets

● Create internal checklists and quality assurance materials that will promote consistency across properties

● Communicate with property management vendors and utilize internal tools to maintain Kasa quality standards across the portfolio; audit vendor performance to ensure standards are continually met

● Oversee vendor transitions and additions as necessitated

● Understand operational challenges and work towards optimized solutions

● Serve as accounting liaison for assigned Property Operations Managers

● Complete other tasks as needed to guarantee that the Property Operations Team is efficient, successful and celebrated

Requirements

— You have 4+ years of operations experience

— You have 2+ years of management experience

— You have 2+ years of project management experience

— You have supervised property managers or possess other applicable management experience

— You pride yourself on your communication and organizational skills

— You love new challenges and are a solution-oriented problem solver

— You have experience working for an early-stage startup or are adaptable by nature

— You’re reliable, calendar-conscious and follow through on what you promise

— You're proactive by nature and act decisively when needed, especially in a pinch

— You're lighthearted and can handle personnel issues with a calm and positive demeanor

— You enjoy technology and are eager to learn, teach and help develop new systems and platforms

— You're flexible in your schedule and can help fill gaps on a team calendar when needed

— You’re a team player committed to uplifting your coworkers and the company

— You are available to work 40+ hours a week, including Saturdays and/or Sundays as needed
