Ipeace App provides citizens a tool to report in real-time human rights abuses

In 2014 in DRCongo, the International Crisis Group estimated that over 1,000 people were dying every day from war- related causes, including disease, hunger and violence. Mobile technology, including everything from inventive applications for smart phones to simple text messaging, is increasingly ubiquitous in the developing world and holds great potential for impact in promoting peace and attitudes towards justice. Ipeace App seeks to bring to justice individuals who commit atrocities by providing human rights defenders, journalists, and ordinary citizens with a mobile app to capture much needed verifiable video, songs and photos of these abuses. Ipeace App project provides citizens an unprecedented way to report in real-time human rights abuses, polices brutalities and other forms of violences in the democratic republic of Congo. Ipeace App project then becomes an ongoing advocate for the footage to promote accountability for those who commit the worst international crimes.
