IonQ is an interdisciplinary team of experimental and theoretical physicists, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and software engineers building the world's best quantum computers by manipulating trapped ions with lasers.

Responsibilities:
• Bring reliability engineering to IonQ -- we're just starting to scale our platform!
• Contribute ideas for new features, and help us improve how we do things

Required skills and education:
• 5+ years site reliability engineering experience
• Experience with virtualized and containerized environments
• Experience deploying, operating, debugging, and tuning application deployments on Linux
• CI/CD are your jam
• Strong interest in security
• You’re strongly capable in an imperative or functional language (e.g. JavaScript, Go, Python)
• Able to identify processes in need of automation quickly, and automate them
• Able (and excited) to mentor junior engineers

Preferred:
• You’ve been responsible for large-scale distributed systems before
• Familiarity both with GCP and AWS
• Experience with Terraform, or a strong argument in favor of another system
• Prior experience with scaling databases and web applications
