You will join a team dedicated to raising the standards for battery management systems and contribute to their continuous improvement. You will help build robust electronics impervious to the hostility of various applicative environments. At ION you will have the opportunity to make lithium-ion batteries safer, more efficient, and basically help the world tackle one of its biggest challenges: Energy storage.

What you will do:

Create concepts and designs which focus on reliability, cost, and manufacturability. Build your knowledge of design tools & process. Support contract manufacturing partners to prototype and validate the designs.
Performs activities in support of electronic hardware integration and design development of circuit boards in various power systems and battery applications.
Perform concept creation (3D & 2D), assembly drawings, simulations and generate bill of materials (BoM) and design for manufacturing (DFM) ready components
Design harness drawings, sheet metal and plastic parts and develop application specific custom battery systems using electro-mechanical engineering know-how
Validation of prototypes and using hands on engineering to solve problems before shipping designs

This is you:

2-3 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design
Good leadership skills to manage technical design projects and coordinate with partners
Expertise in Solidworks
Basic understanding of ANSYS (16.0 and above) and its tools like ANSYS FLUENT, ICEPAK, Thermal, etc.
Expertise in the design of sheet metal and plastic part design
Knowledge in Manufacturing of sheet metal & plastic parts
Good Communication skills
Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of rack units and server units is a plus
Good documentation skills
BEng/BS/MS/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
Candidate should have an end to end product life cycle - experience in plastic & sheet metal. This end to end product design life cycle includes - Conceptual design, prototyping, test the product and market validation.
Candidate should have good experience in sheet metal and plastic part design and development.
Conceptualization & 3D Modelling
Thermal Design and simulations - Verify the thermal performance of systems before they are sent for production
Candidates should be from a product based company, has worked on PCB design, its verification, validation and materials used with PCB’s like plastic or metal.
