About us:

Are you a ROCK STAR visual designer with a strong UX background looking for a fresh challenge working on exciting new IoT devices? We develop connected hardware + software products in the rapidly growing Smart Home space. We’re growing our team and are looking for talented designers with wide ranging experience to develop our digital products and help inform the development of new products. About you:

Design is what drives our company forward so we’re looking for the best of the best. You need to be confident in your skills about working in a small team and being in the spotlight. As our lead digital product designer you’ll go beyond eye candy visuals and pretty interfaces; you’ll provide meaning to the way our customers interact with our products. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team to ideate, prototype, develop, test, and launch new software and hardware products. Additionally, you’ll produce assets that will be utilized for business decks and marketing collateral, print and digital.


Have full ownership of your work. Equal parts UX and UI designer that embraces the challenge of driving the design process through ideation, user research, prototyping, and visual design.
Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
Rapidly test and iterate on designs following a user-centered design approach.
Understand customer needs, validate assumptions, and drive design decisions.
Strong graphic design experience to produce a wide range of assets for development, business and marketing.
Serve as a resource for design quality control that maintains cohesion among the many different fronts the brand reaches a consumer.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in design or related field, or comparable working experience in design positions.
5+ years as a product/visual designer for digital products.
2+ years leading cradle to grave design efforts.
Experience working for digital products on web app platforms that are scalable (mobile/desktop)
Experience on web design with practical understanding of HTML/CSS. You’re able to speak with developers and deliver realistic design guidelines.
Sketch and Principle mastery. Practical experience delivering assets to developers; InVision and Zeplin are highly preferred. Experience creating prototypes in Principle.
Highly experienced with Adobe suite of design software; Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere/Final Cut Pro are a must.
Ability to make decisions individually and keep moving things forward.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Knowledge of latest trends in UX and visual design for web and mobile.
Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
Amazing design portfolio that demonstrates insightful design thinking skills and craftsmanship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working for digital products with hardware integration and native apps.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced design startup environment.
Experience with video production (basic planning, shooting and editing) a big plus.
Ability to conduct lean user research:
1) Qualitative research interviewing users in-person in order to get usability feedback to quickly iterate and apply design improvements.
2) Quantitative research working with marketing team discovering new insights into content performance, enabling you to iterate the web design accordingly.
