Freelance Horticulturists -- Hiring Freeze until June 2020€20k – €30k
Currently seeking knowledgeable and friendly Plant Specialists for Berlin, Paris, London and NYC. We're on a hiring freeze until June 2020 due to COVID-19, but are still accepting introductions to promising candidates.
horticure connects plant owners with plant specialists to keep their indoor plants healthy. Our plant specialists provide plant owners with in-home support across a few services, including figuring out the problem with any sick and dying plants, repotting, proper watering schedules and even plant selection based on the light conditions available in the home. If you’re passionate about keeping indoor plants healthy and have ever been called a “green thumb”, consider joining horticure.
You’re a high energy self-starter who likes to work independently, and have an authentic passion for providing the best care possible to indoor plants. You have demonstrated the ability to build long-lasting customer relationships by cultivating and maintaining professional credibility. You will be offered flexible working hours (anywhere from 10 - 35 hours weekly), and will be expected to visit the homes of our customers to care for their healthy and sick plants. A desire to continually learn and grow your horticulture knowledge is a high priority in this position. You will be responsible for your own independent research in identified areas of need, to improve your ability to achieve success in the role and for our customers.
Responsibilities during appointments would include:
-- Identifying plants
-- Identifying and resolving issues affecting the health of indoor plants
-- Occasional lifting of plants (for repotting or identifying a plant issue)
-- Occasional climbing of ladders to reach very tall or hanging plants
-- Watering, moving and cleaning plants
-- Evaluating indoor plants growing conditions and developing care schedules
-- Occasional delivery of plants to customers
Successful candidates would possess the following characteristics and experiences:
-- Demonstrated experience in caring for indoor plants
-- Ability to identify a wide variety of indoor plants and pests
-- Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset
-- Ability to work independently, learn quickly and retain information
-- Ideal: at least 1 year prior customer service experience
-- Ideal: prior or current plant nursery, agriculture or horticulture experience
-- For Berlin: At least B2 level German language skills in addition to English.
-- For Paris: At least B2 level French language skills in addition to English.
