Our Engineering team are rewriting the rulebook on OS design to create HadeanOS. It is distributed-first, robust to scaling, efficient, compact and fast. On this foundation we are building Aether Engine, a simulation framework capable of tackling the vast complexity of tomorrow’s gaming, life science and physical simulation challenges.



As our new Principle Engine Developer you will be key to our growth by:

Working in the Engines Chapter to own our distributed/cloud game engine and ensure that it has the power and feature set to push the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming, life science and other spatial simulation arenas.

Offering your considerable experience of game engine architecture and development to the rest of the engineering team to ensure our Aether engine technology can compete with the world’s best game engines.

Working in cross-functional squads of developers on missions to deliver both foundational work and incremental improvements to Hadean’s technology. As an autonomous, self-organising team you’ll own your goals and feel the thrill of successful delivery.

What we’re looking for:

In depth knowledge of game engine architecture and in particular physics and AI/gameplay subsystems.

Extensive experience designing and implementing changes to a game engine that has been used on AAA games title: UE4, Frostbite, CryEngine, Essence, Id Tech, Unity, etc.

C/C++ expertise and an understanding of x86-64 architecture, memory model, and performance concerns

Experience in a lead technical role designing and implementing smaller game engine projects with at least one title shipped using that engine

Experience optimising engine code for memory, cache, and CPU efficiency and performance.

Knowledge of games network programming and optimisation concerns.

You can take high level requirements and distil them into an elegant software design.

You are a champion for quality and know what it takes for a team to write clear, understandable and maintainable software

Nice but not necessary:

Experience with Rust.

Experience working with distributed systems or parallel computing.

Experience leading development teams in an agile environment.
