Senior Accountant (m/f/x)
Your role and responsibilities:
-The Senior Accountant position is responsible for supporting our EMEA region finance processes. You will report to the International Controller. This position will provide tactical support and improve compliance of our EMEA accounting and payroll processes and operations, as well as assist in supporting the EMEA business utilizing the standard global processes.
-The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills to coordinate the planning, implementation, and administration of policies and programs. In addition, this role will require to work with the payroll vendor to develop, adjust, and/or enhance payroll systems and procedures due to changes in tax laws, regulations, and our pay policies/compensation initiatives.
-This position will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Tax, Legal, Human Resources, IT, as well as with our external vendors. This role is ideally suited for someone with the ability to lead and effectively communicate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growing and ever-changing environment. This position will also ensure timely and high-value customer service to employees; including developing and adhering to established service level agreements and ensuring research and responses are thorough.
How will you make an impact? Here’s how:
-Payroll & Benefits: Support EMEA payroll processing, compliance and work closely with the payroll vendors and accountants on various payroll tax and accounting activities
-Payroll Processing & Controls: Ensure proper review of payroll output from payroll vendor. This includes all payroll inputs are accurately captured. Includes but not limited to performing payroll analysis such as total gross payroll to net payment, the average paid per headcount by country, and comparison of analysis to a prior period, etc.
-Compliance: Review all payroll reporting and ensure accurate and timely filing with appropriate government authorities. Support external financial audit. Manage any payroll related audits e.g. benefits reviews, workers compensation, employee leave, etc.
-Support expense report reimbursement process working closely with employees to ensure compliance with global time and expense policies.
Partnering with Sales and Business Unit Financial Planning & Analysis on cost estimation and spend controls.
-Employee experience: Conduct employee onboarding training sessions on payroll and T&E policy and claim process. Respond to employee inquiries and serve as a liaison between employee and third-party providers; educate and counsel employees on how to use self-service tools and address issues that fall outside the scope of self-service, including leaves of absence, benefits changes, hourly time tracking, and overtime.
-Close Process: Support monthly/quarterly accounting close activities, where required working closely with India accounting operations on account reconciliations, investigating financial reporting and variance analysis specifically focused on EMEA countries.
-Tax matters: Help provide coordinating support to file Income tax and VAT returns filing for Germany, NL, and France working closely with the India accounting team and in-country tax vendor
-Year End: Managed the annual preparation and delivery of annual forms as required within the jurisdictions.
-Special Projects: Provide ad-hoc support and services as needed.
Our perfect match:
-BS degree or equivalent. Minimum of 3-4 years accounting and payroll processing experience in companies with 200+ employees. International experience with the US, EMEA and/or APAC is required
-Process Oriented: Strong understanding of finance (payroll, Accounts payable and local tax) processes and practices. Excellent management and organizational skills.
-Tools and Systems: Experience with ERP systems and Excel (think pivot tables and lookups) a strong plus
-Technical skills: Thorough knowledge of payroll-related state, legal, tax, and compliance requirements
-Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to interface and establish rapport with all levels of the organization including executive team members. Fluency in English and German is required.

-Flexibility: Ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and data-driven organization.
