About the Position:

Firstdate is building the future of dating, and video is at the core of that vision. Our video engineering team is looking for an experienced full-stack webrtc video engineer to own significant portions of our platform.

About our Stack:

1. AWS Infrastructure and Deployment
a) AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS Route53, AWS Load Balancers, SSL Certificates
2. React.js, Redux, Javascript, Golang, MySQL
3. WebRTC, WebSockets, Signalling and TURN servers
4. Twilio Video API
a) Using WebRTC & suite of Twilio SDKs

As a Senior Software Engineer you would be one of the first couple employees at a new startup that’s funded by the best investors in the industry. Our investors are hands on and have experience building eight figure businesses, taking business public, in addition to investing in multiple successful companies.


Work directly with the CTO and CEO to build new features, improve performance and make income generating decisions
Collaborate with product stakeholders and the growth team to build features that amplify growth
Work directly with the product and design team to implement features, improvements, and performance updates


- Have 5+ years of professional software development or equivalent expertise
- Have strong experience working with web video APIs like Twilio and webrtc
- Have worked with webrtc in the past
- Have general experience with video - streaming, live, and quality/performance
- Have strong experience working with react, redux, and JS
