Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

We are looking for a passionate engineer to help us take our company to the next level and continue to build and optimize the best user-focused product of its kind.

Your work will have a direct impact on our very fast-growing community and will be seen and used by millions of people around the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code

• Collaborate with designers and product developers to conceptualize and build new features end-to-end

• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems

• Establish processes for ensuring maintainability of new code and bringing old code into new standards via refactor and replacement

• Continuously monitor and improve our existing solutions to optimize performance and provide a seamless user experience

• Integrate high levels of automated test coverage into workflows

• Implement code review and continuous integration from a bottom-up approach with other developers

• Have a passion for staying up-to-date with current technologies in web development

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• 4+ years of experience shipping software in a professional team setting

• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

• Passion for writing well-architected, readable code that's easy to maintain by a team of developers

• Ability to implement automated testing into your code

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming & server-side templating languages

• Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)

• Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes

• Experience using Linux-based operating systems and comfortable using command-line tools

• A knack for troubleshooting & resolving technical issues in development and production

• A degree in Computer Science or similar field of study is preferred, but not required

• You are available full-time, live in Las Vegas or are willing to relocate. This is NOT a remote position.
