The Role
Senior Software Developer (Remote Position)
We are looking to add a senior software developer with 5+ years of Java and AWS experience to our team. Our dev team is small and we all wear many hats, but we're looking for somebody who can help own our AWS infrastructure and meaningfully contribute on backend Java development. We’re a fast paced, remote and casual work environment that’s moving into a new growth stage and want to add team members who are excited and passionate about the work they do and the team they are part of.
Responsibilities include:
- Ownership of existing AWS ecosystem
- Ownership of existing code base
- Maintaining, fixing and improving existing software with clean, efficient code
- Testing and deploying programs and systems
- Teaching and mentoring junior members of the team
- Continuing to learn and improve your own skill set
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
- Able and willing to work with others on a team
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
Knowledge of coding languages and Infrastructure:
- Java, JSP, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JDBC template MySQL, REST API
- AWS RDS, ElasticSearch Service, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Elastic Container Service
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
- Attention to detail
