Staff Software Engineer, Core Product

Facet is an exploratory analytics platform for time series data. Facet helps teams in any company to explore key business metrics and perform root-cause analysis without needing to write SQL or engage a data engineering team.

We are hiring engineers to help develop our streaming analytics platform and data modeling products for businesses that are built on top of Facet.

At Facet, you will:

• Deliver key features and products to our customers aimed at increasing their love and usage of the product
• Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Facet’s product
• Obsess over delivering a user experience that brings value and delight to our customers
• Be actively involved in the direction of the product
• Lead sustainable incident response, blameless postmortems, and production improvements aimed at improving user experience
• Use modern technologies and leverage the best tools available
• Be part of a collaborative team with deep experience in technology, product design, and entrepreneurship
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, good engineering practices, and testing standards
• Help shape the engineering culture as our small, dynamic team grows

Prior to Facet, you have:

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Full Stack Engineer, ideally for an Enterprise SaaS company in the infrastructure, analytics and/or data space.
• The ability to think through customer requirements to determine high-impact solutions to their problems
• An entrepreneurial spirit who thrives when moving quickly on green-field products
• Interest in building data visualizations, exploratory analytics, backend services, APIs, tools, and libraries for ingesting and analyzing terabytes of data every day
• Experience building applications using modern tools like Node.js, Typescript, React, GraphQL, and Express
• Knowledgeable working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery and Snowflake)
