Position Overview
- Social is seeking a world-class General Manager to build and grow a new event brand concept, overseeing all areas of the business from inbound sales and vendor partnerships to strategy, product offerings, and execution. This position is designed for an experienced industry vet looking to leverage their talent, hustle, and entrepreneurialism into an innovative way to serve the event planning industry. The ideal candidate will have the right mix of operating and sales experience as well as deep vendor/talent contacts and relationships. They will also have strong verbal and communication skills, and the strategic ability to help drive market share.

- The position will be focused on building an ecommerce platform to provide unique event packages to event planners (independent and corporate). Candidates should have a strong background in the events planning industry.

Responsibilities include:
- Product:
-- Manage team to grow vendor database + sold experiences/packages
-- Create categories for different types of events & different types of packages (Gala, Bar Mitzvah, Wedding,
Launch pilot program with initial event & meeting planners
Aggregate feedback to iterate and update platform strategy and experience
Work closely with web development team to make all necessary updates
Create processes for online porta
Oversee all current team members, contractors, and partners
Build team structure, identify team needs, hiring, and training
Accountable for and reporting on sales and profitability KPI’s
Sales & Marketing:
Manage all outbound sales and inbound leads
Launch blog/content (Marketing)
Promote and market the social brand
Required Skills & Experience
7 - 10 years in the event planning industry managing production services, entertainment, specialty vendors, and custom installations
Excellent leadership, energy, judgment, communication, interpersonal, management and analytical skills required
Excellent communication skills and writing ability that instills confidence in team and clients alike
Comfortable managing and building a high-functioning team in a fast-paced environment
Creative and proactive problem solver; identify opportunities and roadblocks in order to design strategies, processes, and vendor selection that ensures high client satisfaction
Passionate about growing and building a business to its full potential
Team player that thrives in a self starter / start-up environment
Can work weekends when necessary
