Ensu is looking for a Head of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts across growth & user acquisition, as well as our brand strategy. We’re looking for a creative, analytical thinker who can manage the overall marketing function and drive practical implementation of it within an early-stage startup environment. We expect this role to evolve from a single individual contributor to a team lead. The ideal candidate should have comfort and excitement around building a team from the ground up in a player/coach environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own responsibility for Ensu’s growth and user acquisition strategy to ensure the company achieves its strategic objectives
    * Develop and refine Ensu’s user acquisition strategy across all channels
    * Coordinate efforts to implement Ensu’s growth strategies, including content creation, working with influencers and musicians, and conducting campaigns with partner organizations
    * Analyze marketing and growth data to identify opportunities to scale marketing efforts, and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses

  • Own responsibility for Ensu’s brand strategy to ensure that the right message reaches and resonates with our audience
    * Shape Ensu’s brand narrative and voice so that it’s true to our mission, clearly articulates our unique value prop, and resonates with our target audience
    * Drive Ensu’s social channels, and own coordination of all initiatives across key social platforms
    * Build Ensu’s community in a way that supports and enriches the brand and increases word of mouth user acquisition

  • Collaborate with the broader Ensu team to align marketing and brand strategy with other parts of the company
    * Work with the product, engineering and design teams to ensure that all aspects of the user experience have a unified and consistent voice
    * Collaborate with the product team to support implementation of features designed to drive robust product-led growth

Experience

  • Industry: 4+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles, and 6-10 years experience overall, at early stage technology companies or in the music industry
  • User Acquisition: Prior success significantly contributing to user acquisition and growth in an early stage environment
  • Influencer Marketing: Prior experience navigating the influencer space, with a strong understanding of the social contract involved with influencers and VIPs
  • Brand building: Proven ability to grow the brand of an early-stage company
  • Community building: Prior experience in building out a community of superfans around a brand or company

  • Creative thinker: Out of the box thinker who tends to find solutions that others don’t see or promptly dismiss. Thinks in terms of ‘what will it take’ versus ‘can it be done’
  • Relentlessly resourceful: Extremely proactive, and finds innovative solutions with limited guidance. Bias for action and an ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • High horsepower: Eager solver of big, complex, and ambiguous company problems, while having the humility to “roll your sleeves up” and do the dirty work without complaint
  • Passion for mental health: Strong interest in helping teenagers and young adults with their mental health. Has personal lived experience around mental health, and demonstrates dedication and interest in the arena (e.g. meditation, therapy, support groups, consciousness hacking etc.)
  • Passion for music: A lover of music, appreciating the art both from a user perspective and also from the human perspective of the people creating music
