About Dreamship

Dreamship is the first and only enterprise Print-On-Demand platform which helps companies build their brand - and new revenue streams - by connecting them to our network of thoroughly vetted suppliers. We’re a profitable (!), pre-seed team of 15 very talented humans seeking a self-motivated and independent Operations Leader to help organize our industry leading supply network of vetted on-demand printers. You will be directly reporting to our CEO & managing a team of operations specialists in order to systematize internal & external processes to deliver a premium print on-demand experience for the plethora of businesses that are powered by Dreamship:

  • An international team of 78 people running a $10mm/yr ecomm business
  • Tech Startups like Curated, Capiche and CustomerHD
  • Larger distribution partners, ie. gifting platforms like Sendoso & Snappy
  • Covid Affected brick and mortar local businesses like restaurants (Big Mozz & Al Horno & Bowl’d Acai) & even scuba shops
  • Non-profits

About You

You person will be responsible for building impeccable processes that balance people & technology to properly manage our day-to-day operations across various stakeholders:

  • with our current supplier network (7 partnerships) & cultivating new supply partner relationships
  • Lateral collaboration (liaison) to promote automation & proper comms channels across functions including:
    • Sales/BizDev
    • Operations & Fulfillment Partners
    • Product/Eng team
  • Executive team member, meaning you are responsible for a full team’s quarterly OKRS & yearly goals. This role will require direct communication with key fulfillment partners, with the goal of making sure they execute on their commitments and being a liaison to internal stakeholders via clear, direct communication and processes.

  • Demonstrated history of building automated processes across multiple departments
  • Detail-oriented & commitment to make data-driven decisions
  • Subsequently, the fortitude to change your mind in the face of compelling data
  • Not afraid to demand execution & be aggressive when needed
  • Strong intuition on how to work with people & manage different personalities
  • Gets shit done. Willing to get hands dirty / roll-up sleeves / do tedious work
  • Excels under pressure

  • Competent with excel / numbers. Or willing to learn
  • Ecommerce or Supply chain expertise
  • Product background (Physical or Technical)
  • Sales operations

The Role

First Year @ Dreamship: Goals & Expectations

First 30 days

  • Holistic understanding of current internal comms &; procedures related to anything that touches fulfillment operations
  • Internal Operations Infrastructure (HubSpot):
    • Create catalogue prioritization (physical products)
    • Create app prioritization (technical , features, bugs, integration)
    • Increase supply capacity
  • Build relationships with key contact(s) at our supply partners
  • Manage supplier pipeline
  • v1 process proposal to exec team, highlighting key areas for improvement and recommended implementation POA for Q42020 + beyond

First 90 days

  • Ensure we are “holiday ready”...measured by an increase in total capacity guaranteed to Dreamship across our supply network
  • Load balance and optimize overall demand + supply, with the third dimension of margin/pricing
  • Oversee and implement the development of tools to automate the supplier operations team
  • Assume responsibility for supplier performance review
  • Help bring aggregate internal data and bring consolidated trend reports to the CEO to identify any red flags or major opportunities we should consider

First 365 days

  • Ensure there are no breakdowns in 2020 Holiday season
  • Minimize and mitigate any breakdowns with Standard Operating Procedures and redundancy plans
  • Ensure 2020 Holiday is profitable and a 50% increase in profit margin % YOY from 2019
  • Document 2020 learnings and build a 2021 Operations plan
  • Work with the tech team to have an internally visible “Operations Product Roadmap”, in which we automate the 20% of ops activities taking 80% of our collective time via technology & internal tools
  • Build a fully functional company wiki/knowledge base

  • Eventually this role can grow into direct oversight of all Dreamship internal operations functions including HR, Finance, supply chain logistics & business integrity
