We are Down to Cook (downtocookfoods.com), a fast-growing, early-stage startup that sells innovative plant-based meal starters that transform fresh vegetables into delicious and satisfying meals.

Our mission is to increase the reach of healthy plant-based food, making products that are accessible to people who have been under-served by the plant-based food movement. We do this by creating affordable products, prioritizing accessible points of distribution and paying special attention to inclusivity in our product design.

We recently launched our first product line, the Adda Veggie Protein Mix. Simply add a fresh veggie to the mix to make meat-free, protein-rich patties or balls in minutes. Our products are vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free and provide 11 grams of plant-based protein per serving. Adda Veggie is highly versatile, and can be used with a variety of vegetables in a wide variety of cuisines. Just add a veggie, and enjoy!

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who enjoys the breadth of responsibility of joining an early stage start-up and can be agile and efficient. This role requires a high level of creativity as we are building a new consumer category.

Responsibilities:

+ Develop & execute our omnichannel go-to-market plan in retail, foodservice and direct-to-consumer.
+ Develop customer relations, take a grassroots approach to building local relationships with restaurants and local stores
+ Design bottoms-up build for retail strategy
Manage sales operations including servicing customers and forecasting for production runs
+ Create sell-in story to customers based on the Adda Veggie value proposition compared to existing products in plant-based protein and meal kit categories
+ Identify and execute the acquisition channels for retail, foodservice and direct channels

Experience & Education:

+ 5+ years of sales experience at a food company (early-stage start-up experience preferred)
+ Passion for food justice and inclusive design
+ Data-driven mindset and desire to do hands-on testing
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Location: The position is based in Richmond, CA. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
