About DeltaTrainer (www.deltatrainer.fit)
DeltaTrainer is a 1-on-1 digital personal training service powered by motion analysis tech.
Our tech runs on wearable devices like the Apple Watch and automatically logs sets, counts reps, grades form, calculates pacing, and estimates difficulty. End users get unlimited 1-on-1 interaction with expert trainers and an elegant hands-free workout experience. Trainers get all the data and insights they need to do their jobs from thousands of miles away.
We raised our first round of venture funding from Incite Ventures, Drive Capital, Purpose Built Ventures, and several angel investors in Q1 of 2020.
We currently have several hundred active training clients on the platform, 3 fitness club customers, and a partnership with the largest gym chain in the world. We have grown 50-100% per month for the last six months and our margins are healthy.
About the Position
As our second technical hire, you will work side-by-side with the founding team, and have a large impact on the direction and success of the company. Specifically, you will report directly to our CEO, Matt Spettel, who has done all of our iOS/product development to date. As our team expands rapidly, you will have the opportunity to grow into an engineering leadership position.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Frontend Development: Implementing designs/features for both our consumer facing iOS/watchOS app and our internal trainer dashboard app (web/React.js)
- Customer Discovery: Meeting regularly with our training staff and users to understand which features will have the greatest impact on user/trainer experience
- Backend Development: Implementing simple backend infrastructure and endpoints to fetch/store information for use in the front end
You need to have a very intuitive understanding of all fundamental swift/iOS mechanics. Although not required, we prefer experience developing watchOS apps. Experience with React.js and Node.js is also required.
We need someone who fits into DeltaTrainer culture. You can’t just be willing to work 60 hours a week, you must be excited to - because you’ll be surrounded by a team working 80 hours who wish they could do more. From passion projects to hackathons, we love people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and build things.
We are a team of intense, efficient, goofy, progress-driven fitness nerds; and we are excited to have you join us in putting effective and affordable personal training on the wrist of every person in the world.
If applying on AngelList, put a flexing emoji (💪) in your application so we know you actually took the time to read this 😉
