Our community offers unique values to home design addicts, furniture shoppers, interior designers and decorators, and home decor & furniture brands, who are leveraging our ​inspirations, mini blogs, mood​​board​, interior design and AR visualization, and AR furniture shopping features to create, share and gain values instantly.

DecorMatters's journey originally began in 2016, when everyone on our team went through a strenuous experience of home remodeling and furniture shopping. Due to the hardships, we were compelled to make a change so that our users would not have to go through the same discouraging process - we believe that home design should be enjoyable, not stressful. Since then, we have been working very hard to design, implement, and refine this free app with genuine care and concern. Our mission is to bring the best home design and furniture shopping experience to our users.

DecorMatters is well backed by venture capital and growing extremely fast. We are actively looking for a Public & Media Relations Contractor/Intern. A passionate candidate with exceptional PR & marketing strategy, communication, project and people management skills is desired. The role will be focused on leading the full scope of our platform PR including strategy, story telling, thought leadership, research, and events. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping our rapidly growing marketing and outreach efforts.

Position Responsibilities:
+Execute a PR strategy in collaboration with other staff to achieve significant increases in awareness of DecorMatters and support for our mission.
+Increase visibility of and engagement with DecorMatters app users and business partners (home decor brands) in collaboration with other staff.
+Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, media visits, broadcast opportunities, and spokesperson needs
+Establish and maintain relationships with local, national, and trade press in traditional and new media outlets
+Develop and place compelling content, including press releases, editorial pieces, and member profiles
+Monitor media coverage and measure the results of PR efforts
+Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:
+BA/BS degree.
+Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to think on ones feet and stay on message
+Exceptional time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work with a team as well as independently, and to manage and meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously
+A passion for User-Generated-Content (UGC) social community, home decor, and interior design.
+Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working collaboratively and creatively
+Proficiency with basic computer programs including Microsoft Office, social media tools, and media applications, Familiarity with HTML and Photoshop is a plus.
+Experience in media or public relations with a strong network of traditional and new media press contacts is big bonus.
