Tappytoon is a global content platform offering comics, manhwa, manga and webtoons. Since 2013, we’ve quickly grown into a daily destination accessed by readers from over 190 countries, while reaching top-5 grossing comics and books app on the app stores in 90 of them.

Our library spans exclusive and licensed titles from some of the biggest publishers in Korea and Asia, including Kakao, Mr Blue, Jaedam, Haksan, as well as TV and game adaptations. Our website serves as a hub for all this professionally vetted English-language content, including premium series and operational systems not available on our mobile apps.

You’ll implement new features, enhance existing architecture and revenue systems, and improve the overall experience of our web presence. Your contributions (and code!) will help accelerate our solid track record of growth, revenue and market cap, while being used live everyday by our vibrant, passionate community of readers around the globe.

Key responsibilities:
• develop and build performant frontend applications
• collaborate with engineers, designers and other team members
• iterate on, debug, deploy code vetted by unit/integration tests
• maintain scalable and robust code

Experience in / understanding of:
• 3+ years of frontend experience
• frameworks such as React.js, Angular.js, Vue.js, etc.
• modern HTML5, CSS3, ECMAScript
• CSS Preprocessors such as SASS
• cross-browser and responsive web principles
• REST API
• version control (git), build tools (webpack)
• working with Amazon AWS, using cloud systems

Preference to those with experience in:
• Typescript or Flow
• payment gateways
• Fullstack development, or familiar with backend development

Bonus points if you:
• have an interest or experience with consumer-facing media, comics, entertainment services/products
• are not afraid of experimentation, new technologies
• have experience on a live B2C, D2C service/product team
• Korean language ability is a plus, but not required.

• This position is NOT possible for remote-work.

In-house, full-time position (remote work is not possible): As a team serving readers around the globe we welcome diverse applicants, but you must be located here in Seoul, Korea. Korean language ability is a plus but not required.
