As the Senior Tax Analyst for Compass, you will be responsible for assisting in tax related activities across the United States including income, sales & use, and property taxes. These activities are being performed by an internal tax team based in New York, supported by external advisors. As a member of the tax department this individual would be accountable to assist in day to day operations in all areas of tax, as well as assist with special assignments, while partnering with various functions across the organization.

At Compass You Will:

* Prepare and process federal & state income tax returns
* Prepare quarterly & annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
* Maintain the Company's tax calendar
* Assist in sales & use tax, property tax, business license and other miscellaneous filings/registrations
* Prepare monthly tax accruals
* Reconcile and analyze tax accounts on a monthly basis
* Respond to state correspondence
* Register legal entities with localities
* Assist with state & local audit requests
* Research tax laws, regulations and case law to resolve complex tax issues
* Lead special projects

What We Are Looking For:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a plus
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in Big 4 or a large multinational corporate tax department
* Experience preparing federal and state tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, preferred
* Experience working alongside 3rd party advisors
* Self-starter, position and cooperative attitude, zero ego, with demonstrated ability to problem-solve under minimal supervision
* Exceptional organization techniques
* Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with cross functional teams and upper management
* Strong analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills
* Proactive, always seeking additional responsibility
* Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience with NetSuite, a plus
