Position Summary:

Responsible for basic administrative task; such as, greeting patients and visitors, answering the phone, registering patients, verifying insurance, and scheduling appointments. This is a full-time position.

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:

Registers patients in eCW and obtains required documentation.
Updates demographic information at every patient visit.
Answers and screens all telephone calls appropriately and independently, creates telephone encounters and forwards them to the appropriate personnel.
Verifies patients insurances and determines any charges/copayments
Collects payments for visits and issues receipts to the patient.
Prints health certificates as appropriate for patient visits.
Monitors and responds in a timely manner to patient voicemails, telephone encounters, and actions.
Reviews, scans, and sends encounters for Release of Information, Work forms.
Informs Practice Manager of double accounts, removes unnecessary alerts of accounts, and corrects spelling errors in patient accounts.
Is compliant with COH policies and state and federal regulations governing confidential information, including HIPAA.
Attends regular staff meetings, and performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of two years experience as a Medical Receptionist.
Bilingual preferred in English and Spanish/Amharic.
