We have experienced rapid growth through 2018 and have ambitious plans to double our buildout and number of customers in during 2019.

We want to maintain the best elements of a start-up culture while we grow, and are based in a great collaborative office in London (Wework).

Our key achievements have been:
• Raised £45m from large institutions (RPMI and Amber Infrastructure)
• Offering 10GB broadband to business customers and soon residential customers
• Deployed our full fibre infrastructure to 60,000 premises (homes and businesses)
• Agreements with landlords to deploy to 250,000 premises
• Connected 6,000 customers

The role
We're looking for an ambitious and driven Finance Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for running the day to day operations of the Finance team, managing three staff. You will be given the autonomy to recommend and implement improvements across finance.



Responsibilities

• Manage the transactional finance team, including the following ongoing tasks:
o Purchase to pay process
o Develop financial approval processes and track compliance
o Cashflow forecasting
o Payroll and expenses
o All HMRC related compliance – VAT and tax returns
o Allocation and tracking of capital expenditure

• Manage the month end process and reporting:
o Preparation of monthly management accounts, analysing performance against budget
o Prepare finance section for investor board reports
o Responsible for month end timetable and ensuring information is provided in a timely manner
o Ownership of monthly cost reporting, ensuring spend has been allocated correctly
o Developing a process to reconcile stock at month end
o Maintaining up to date financial reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items and constant process improvement

• Other:
o Provide key financial information to the business for operational decisions
o Ensure integrity of controls, and financial records, and compliance across the business
o Lead preparation for the annual Audit and Statutory Accounts
o Support implementation of new accounting software
o Work with Colleagues across the business to identify and implement performance improvements


Experience & attributes
• Strong academics, graduate (2:1) top 30 or similar, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Newly qualified to 2 years PQE experience in Finance Manager role, audit or preparation of management/financial accounts
• Experience in top 10 audit firm/professional services firm, large corporate or start-up
• Strong report writing capabilities
• Ambitious, keen to get hands on experience in a fast-changing start-up environment
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Detail oriented and experienced in follow-through and completion of projects
• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of Python a bonus, though not essential
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in technology industry
