CLI Studios licenses our subscription-based platform to schools and dance studios around the world to provide them with affordable access to world-renowned arts educators.

What the position entails
CLI Studios is looking for a Vice President of Engineering (VPE) to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As part of the management team, you will help CLI Studios drive the growth of our online learning program by developing the Company’s future state online arts education platform. Here are some of the activities you will be responsible for:

Developing and implementing the Company’s future state systems architecture
Building, managing, and leading the Company’s engineering team
Managing the design and execution of the software engineering roadmap
Developing and directing procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained
Providing engineering expertise in the areas of development, architecture, systems, etc.
Ensuring current and accurate budgeting in conjunction with finance
Working closely with the product owners to understand user needs and to plan the product development roadmap

What you need to be successful

At CLI Studios we’re looking for driven, curious, passionate, and hard-working people who have a love for the arts. Here are the specific experiences, skills, and traits that we think will help you be successful in the
VPE role:


Extensive software engineering and IT experience
Experience building web-based and mobile applications in content, media, wellness, or education industry verticals
Experience working at technology startups
Experience managing engineering teams within the past five years (of varying sizes)
Strong knowledge in system architecture
Experience measuring team and individual software engineering KPIs
BA/BS in software engineering or equivalent (Masters preferred)
Knowledge about and passion for arts and arts education (theatre, dance, music, or visual and fine arts)
Skills & Traits:
Strategic thinking and planning acumen
Strong analytical, campaign execution and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and in teams
Drive to deliver excellent results
Desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills and experiences
