Cleo is an AI assistant that helps over 2,200,000 people in the UK, US and Canada feel better about their money. Cleo can track your spending, set budgeting and saving goals, automatically save money for you, help you avoid overdraft charges, and a whole lot more - all in an engaging, fun and relevant product voice that is designed to nudge behaviour, tear down conventions about finances, and make money a bit less scary.

The team 🚀

We are a fast-growing start-up, backed by the founders of Skype, Transferwise and Zoopla. In the past year we’ve scaled the team from 6 to 40, launched in North America, closed a $10m Series A led by Balderton Capital, and scaled to over 2,200,000 users. Brand new challenges ☀️

We are rapidly moving through uncharted territory with brand new design challenges to solve around AI, UI and the blend of the two, across both native app and Facebook Messenger platforms. We are a small but growing design with an excellent bunch of developers who are building faster than we can design. To ensure we can keep iterating quickly, we need a maintainable and scalable design system, that doesn’t put a ceiling on creative design and problem solving. And of course, we are solving money problems that make a real difference to our users.

Your role 🦄

* Solving customer problems that are key to Cleo’s success with simple, robust and elegant solutions.
* Designing systems for mass personalisation with complex interaction patterns between chat and chat-integrated UI across Facebook Messenger the Cleo app, and more platforms to come.
* Testing, iterating and refining concepts with our active community of users and growing list of alpha testers.
* Applying data, integrated A/B tests and customer support queries to validate and iterate on shipped features.
* Collaborating with team members and communicating designs to developers and the wider team.

Our checklist 🔥

* A deep curiosity about people's relationship with their money, and the motivation to use smartly designed experiences to create a healthier and happier outcome for our users.
* Three to five years full-time experience designing digital products in collaboration with developers.
* A portfolio of work that speaks to the craftsmanship and impact of your designs. As long as you have some surface level designs to share with us, we are more than happy to dive straight into working files face to face.
* Experience designing at consumer focused tech companies, developing, shipping and iterating propositions.
* Ability to own design problems and customer outcomes end-to-end, from understanding our users and pushing our thinking with a variety of solutions, to designing the detailed workflows and interfaces that bring solutions to life.
* A passion for creative design systems, design DNA, consistency, and reusability - from UI and content to user permissions and bot rules.
* Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills, and the ability to bring people together and establish clarity around design.
* Three to five years full-time experience designing digital products in collaboration with developers.
