Looking to be in on the ground floor of a well-funded Toronto startup? Chatter Research is looking to hire a full-time permanent Sales Development Representative (SDR) in Toronto (semi-remote friendly). Backed by VC funding from the USA and Canada, we are looking for a Sales Development Representative with strong communication skills and a passion for sales.

The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying, contacting and nurturing prospects, and then qualifying interested leads through discovery calls before passing them over to our sales team for full presentations.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new program within the company where your work will be instrumental in the overall success of Chatter Research. You’ll also get experience building relationships and interfacing with senior executives at large organizations.

This position has an uncapped earning potential through a base + bonus salary structure.

Duties & Responsibilities

-Build lead lists based on qualifiers we provide like industry, location and title (you’ll be given access to the tools/software needed)
- Call and email lead lists to drive new sales opportunities
- Run discovery calls with inbound and outbound leads to learn more about their needs and give an overview of Chatter’s solution
- Achieve monthly appointment goals
- Build lasting relationships between Chatter Research and leads
- Coordinate with the sales team to hand off qualified leads
- Keep our CRM software updated and accurate with the progress of your leads


The ideal candidate is a highly effective communicator that is self-driven and works well in an autonomous environment. You have experience in lead generation in sales development, ideally with B2B technology solutions. You will be required to learn and become an evangelist of Chatter’s platform and be able to effectively position it according to each lead’s unique needs. Previous experience as a Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative or an Account Executive will be favourably considered.

Education & Experience

- At least 1 year of experience in outbound B2B sales, with technology or SaaS sales experiences preferred
- Experience using prospecting software for list building and outreach (Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft, PersistIQ, Data.com, ZoomInfo, DiscoverOrg, Close.io, etc.)
- Experience using CRM software (Salesforce, Hubspot, Copper, Pipedrive, etc.)
- Experience selling to the Retail or Restaurant industry is a plus
- Familiarity with customer experience / customer feedback programs is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field is preferred
