The Health Plan Head of Health Plan Business Development at Carrot Fertility will be responsible for working with national and regional health plans to establish channel partnerships to deliver the Carrot platform to the health plan’s employer clients.

The Head of Health Plan Business Development will own a book of business and relationships with specific health plans to educate these organizations about the value of the Carrot solution, and ultimately establish partnerships with these health plans. The Head of Health Plan Business Development will be responsible for growing revenue that is generated through our work & partnership with the health plan channel.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop a deep understanding of the key players and industry dynamics in the health plans landscape. Develop and implement strategy for building out Carrot’s health plans channel
  • Develop formal partnerships with new health plan partners
  • Hit quarterly sales targets for named health plan relationships
  • Represent Carrot at industry events
  • Serve as jack-of-all-trades, to get things done, when needed
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success and Operations teams on health plan partner engagement and integration
  • Show a high degree of comfort advising internal senior stakeholders and executives. Influence product development, driven by the insight gained from health plan partner relationships
  • Develop and nurture long term, trusting relationships with partners that drive revenue, product adoption, and joint business success

Expertise, Skills & Requirements

A proven record of success selling into and developing partnerships with Health Plans. The Head of Health Plan Business Development will come with a playbook and strategy, and ability to run a partnership from initial discussions through implementation. Head of Health Plan Business Developments need to be innovative in their quest to help health plan partners effectively sell the Carrot product. In addition, Carrot is looking for Head of Health Plan Business Development candidates with the following skills and abilities:

  • Comfortable with structuring quantitative analysis to develop data driven decisions to grow partnerships, identify new areas of opportunity and demonstrate the business impact of our partnerships to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with key teams at Carrot Fertility including Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product & Engineering
  • Craft and implement strategies to meet quarterly and annual sales targets and milestones
  • Ability to use leadership and sales acumen to train and develop health plan partners
  • Ability to work with both internal and external partners by providing relevant insights based on health plan feedback
  • High level of comfort in presenting/public speaking; confidence in leading through influence
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills; high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Creative and innovative thinking, with strong self-discipline and time management skills
  • Skilled at delivering executive level communication via presentations, strategy documents and other formats, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel as needed


  • At least 5 years experience working on partnerships with a Health Plan (required)
  • Experience meeting and exceeding sales quota
  • Experience managing projects and strategic initiatives
  • Experience managing customer relationships
  • Experience working under deadlines and producing key deliverables
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA is a plus
